Beginners to Photography
A recommended way to start on learning how to take good and sharp pictures is to read up on or understand the exposure triangle – aperture, ISO and shutter speed (not necessarily in that order). An excellent source of information about the subject is the Digital Photography School website.

GEARS TIPS

When traveling, it is always a good idea to bring with you a small roll of duct tape, a small flashlight, a roll of dental floss and a swiss knife.

The duct tape has a hundred and one use – like patch a punctured backpack or bag or your tent when camping, and of course, to tape something up.
During emergency situations, the dental floss can be used to mend shoes and clothing, and to tie things together. During non-emergencies, it can of course be used to floss your teeth.
There is no need to explain why you should have the flashlight and the swiss knife.

RAVES AND RANTS

Beware of pickpockets when traveling by train between cities and towns in Rome and Florence.
Warning signs are highly visible on train ticket vending machines.

Pickpockets come in different groups and numbers - pairs, solo or groups of young people, sometimes very young children (which is unfortunate).
If you run into any issue with them, immediately ask for help from the train transport employees, or from the police if they are nearby.
