Anything That Involves Outdoors and Travel

The 2018 Outdoor Adventure Show visited Toronto last February 23-25, putting everything that involves outdoors and travel under one roof – at the Toronto International Centre in Mississauga.

Inside the exhibition hall, one would find booths and stalls either selling everything from trail snacks to camping equipment to diving gear, or showing and displaying information about recreation destinations, outdoor activities and travel destinations.

One of the main activity areas was the indoor pool (that's what it was called) where canoeing demonstration sessions were held morning and afternoon.

The demonstration showed visitors various ways and techniques in proper and safe canoeing, including how to properly and easily carry or transport a canoe.

Another main activity attraction that was busy during the show was the wall climbing area, where kids and adults alike were able to try different levels of difficulties of wall climbing (with the required safety harness, of course).

It was a good time to buy outdoor gears and equipment, as most of the exhibitors were selling their products at great discounts from 30% to 50% off – like canoes, tents, camping stoves, trail shoes and a lot more. The multi-use hammock 3-in-1 from Matika was 50% off during the last day of the show.

Skydive Toronto was also offering good discounts when customers sign up for a sky jump during the show. One special event discount was $90 off when doing the tandem jump with handycam (helmet-mounted) video recording.

Two members of the avian family were also present during the show - a snowy owl and a peregrine. They were both secured by strings, and the peregrine had a leather hood on.

Tourist destination information booths were all over the place – like the ones from Turks and Caicos, Belize, Aruba and Grenada. One could also check out information about adventure destinations like scuba diving in the Caribbean and trekking in Nepal. Of course, the Canadian locals were present as well – Ontario Parks, Mattawa River Festival, Yukon Tourism and a lot more.

The Outdoor Adventure Show (OAS) is currently in Vancouver, and will be in Calgary on March 24-25.
