Jack Reacher was Here...
The best way to see the city of Pittsburgh, especially if you love taking photos – is to get up to Mount Washington, either by driving up or taking one of the incline rides (Duquesne or Monongahela). From the Grandview Overlook (across St. Mary of the Mount Church) on Grandview Avenue, you can see the downtown Pittsburgh cityscape, with Point State Park on the north and the Heinz Field (home of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team) on the west. The first few minutes scenes of the Tom Cruise movie Jack Reacher were shot from the Mount Washington vantage point. I recognized the scenes when me and my daughter were watching that movie (just sharing).
We drove by Pittsburgh in the middle of the spring of 2016. It was a hazy, rainy afternoon when we got up to Mount Washington - not a good time to take pictures, but I had to make the most of the trip and took a few snap shots just the same.
Will try to visit Pittsburgh again during summertime and see the city better, and take night pictures from this same location (Mount Washington).
